ITV Weatherman Arrested In Historical Sex Abuse Investigation
Police investigating allegations of historical child sex abuse at a Greater Manchester school has arrested TV weather presenter Fred Talbot.
Mr Talbot was arrested on suspicion of three counts of indecent assault and four counts of inciting a child to commit acts of gross indecency in connection with claims of abuse at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys in the 1970s and 80s.
The 63-year-old was a biology teacher at the school at the time.
A police spokesman said: "The offences relate to his time as a teacher at the school between the early 1970s to early 1980s, while the four victims were pupils."
Mr Talbot, who worked for ITV's Granada Reports programme, is best known for his work on the ITV programme This Morning when it was hosted by Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.

Police in south Wales have praised the actions of a 16-year-old boy who apprehended the suspect for a burglary at a local primary school. Brynhyfryd Primary School in Briton Ferry was burgled late on Monday night which resulted in computer equipment being stolen.

£1bn is being unlocked to fund the Department of Education's free school meals commitment. The news, announced by deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, follows an announcement in September that every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools will receive a free school lunch.
