New Strike Action Announced At BBC
In an ongoing dispute over job cuts, staff at the BBC have announced their next of strike action.
They will stage a 12-hour strike from 12 noon on Thursday, 28 March.
The strike action was agreed in a vote held by members of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) and technical union Bectu.
The announcement follows a previous a one-day strike by NUJ members on 18 February, which affected a number of programmes.
The dispute involves around 2,000 job cuts announced by the corporation as part of its Delivering Quality First programme.
The NUJ vote was 61% in favour of stoppages, while backing among Bectu members was 56%.
Both unions were also in favour of action short of a strike, with 80% of NUJ members and 81% of Bectu's supporting it.

Network Rail in High Court bid to halt strike

Council workers vote in favour of strike
