Six-Year-Old Dies After Falling In Canal
A six-year-old girl has died in hospital after being rescued from a canal.
The girl and two other children fell into the water on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal in Kidderminster.
They were found near the Wolverley Court Lock around 18:20 on Tuesday.
Two of the children managed to get out of the water, but the six-year-old had to be rescued.
She was taken to hospital in Birmingham where she died. The other children are expected to make a full recovery.
Supt Kevin Purcell, of West Mercia Police said: "Our investigation into this tragic incident is continuing this morning and we are working hard to establish exactly how the girl came to be in the water.
"The family of the six-year-old are absolutely devastated by their loss and I would ask that their privacy is respected at this time."

A six-year-old girl is recovering in hospital from serious injuries after being attacked by two rottweilers at a holiday home at Dervock, near Ballymoney in County Antrim. Sophia Kimpton needed plastic surgery at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald, for multiple injuries to her head, arms and back.

Man Jailed For Stabbing Six-Year-Old
A 29-year-old man has been jailed for four years after he admitted stabbing a six-year-old girl and her mother. Robert Knox, a former health care worker, stabbed the girl in the chest and her mother in the hand at the house in the Bellfields area of Guildford. The mother and daughter involved in the incident, on 9 June, cannot be named.

Six-year-old girl survives 150ft cliff fall
A six-year-old girl has survived a 150ft fall from a cliff top, miraculously escaping with only minor injuries. Humber Coastguard were alerted shortly after 5:30pm on Thursday evening, following reports that a girl had fallen down a cliff at Filey in Yorkshire, next to the Blue Dolphin Caravan Park.
