Walkers Find Body Of A Baby

The body of a baby, thought to be a newborn, has been found by walkers in the Ox Hey Lane area of Lostock, Bolton, Greater Manchester on Thursday afternoon.

It is understood that it is not yet known how long the baby had been there or how it died. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place on Monday.

Supt Steve Nibloe said officers are "deeply concerned" about the welfare of the mother of the baby.

"This is clearly a very upsetting incident and we already have a number of officers dealing with this at the scene and making other enquiries," he said.

"If anyone has any information whatsoever, regardless of how insignificant you think it might be, please get in touch.
