Teenager Admits Rape At Knife-Point
A teenager has admitted raping a 15-year-old girl at knife-point on Tyneside.
19-year-old Abdul Miah of Hull Street, Elswick, pleaded guilty to three counts of rape and one of robbery but denied kidnap and making threats to kill.
The attack happened on 18 December.
The accused has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 15 April.
Car Collision Kills One, Injures Six
One person has died and six have been injured in a car collision on the A477 in Carmarthenshire, Wales.
One of the injured is thought to be in a critical condition.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening at 17:25 and involved a Peugeot 206 and Kia Sportage.
The 22-year-old front seat passenger in the Peugeot died in hospital in Swansea.
The condition of the other injured people is not thought to be life threatening.
Body Found Off Dorset Coast
The body of a man has been found in the sea near Dorset at about 07:40 this morning.
The body was found off the coast at Alum Chine, Bournemouth
Officers and ambulance crews visited the scene, but the man has been confirmed dead.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
Glasgow Pensioner Robbed
An 84-year-old woman has been robbed while walking with her husband in Castlemilk, Glasgow.
The incident happened in Dougrie Drive, outside the Brae's Shopping Centre, at 11:20 on Saturday.
The woman was pushed to the ground and had her handbag stolen. The attacked then made off towards Dougrie Terrace with the bag and a small amount of cash.
Strathclyde Police are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

Rape Investigation Against MP Mark Pritchard Dropped
An investigation into rape allegations against Conservative MP Mark Pritchard have been dropped, Scotland Yard has confirmed. Mr Pritchard, MP for The Wrekin in Shropshire, was arrested on 2 December, however he was released on police bail. He has now been informed no further action will be taken.

The ringleader of a paedophile gang in Rochdale, who groomed young white girls for sex, has been named after being found guilty of 30 separate child rape charges. Shabir Ahmed, 59, led a child sex exploitation ring of nine men who targeted vulnerable young girls in the Rochdale and Oldham areas of Greater Manchester.

Date rape case judges 'can influence trial outcome'
A judge's summing-up can influence a jury's decision in date rape cases, a report has suggested. The research, conducted for the British Psychological Society, presented 168 university students with a date rape scenario, which included a summing-up statement by the judge, and asked them to decide on the guilt of the alleged rapist.

Four Jailed For 70 Years For Child Abuse
Two men and two women have been jailed for a total of 70 years after being found guilty of 49 child sexual abuse and cruelty offences. The group was found guilty following a three month trial, where charges included rape, sexual assault and ABH, carried out against five victims all aged under 13 at the time.
