Woman Guilty Of Drunken Murder

A Dundee woman has been found guilty of murdering a man during a drunken row.

58-year-old Elizabeth Reid was found guilty by majority of murdering 50-year-old John Whyte at a flat in the city.

She denied murdering the victim with a knife, or similar instrument, at a flat on Provost Road on 1 May.

Sentencing has been deferred until 26 April for reports.

The incident began when police were called to the Provost Road flat after reports of a disturbance.

Mr Whyte was treated by paramedics but died at the scene and Reid was arrested that day.

Gucci Bags Stolen In Ram Raid

50 designer bags have been stolen in a ram-raid on a store in London.

The bags, some thought to be worth as much as £40,000, were lifted when a black Mercedes, which is thought to have been stolen, reversed into the Gucci store in Sloane Street at about 21:50 on Wednesday.

It thought the three suspects then stole the handbags before driving away in a blue Audi A4. No arrests have yet been made.

Security guards in the shop at the time are said to be unhurt.

The store is said to be reviewing its security.

Pedestrian Injured In Traffic Collision

A pedestrian is in hospital following a traffic collision in Bridgend town centre in south east Wales

South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 19:30 on Wednesday evening at Tremains Road, Bridgend.

The incident occurred when a Renault Megane Scenic was travelling along Tremains Road.

The victim was taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, and has been transferred to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Witnesses are asked to call police on 029 20633438 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Seal Pup Found On Aberdeen Beach

A seal pup is recovering after being found struggling to survive on Aberdeen Beach.

The black pup, named Liquorice, is a young male grey seal.

He is reported to have been weak and very thin when he was found by a member of the public.

The Scottish SPCA is now rehabilitating Liquorice at its National Wildlife Rescue Centre at Fishcross in Clackmannanshire.

Four arrested in car crash murder investigation
Four people have been arrested in Reading following the discovery of a man found dead in a car which had collided with a tree. Three men aged 23, 27 and 42 and a woman aged 44 are currently being held in custody at Reading police station.

Nine appear in court over £53m Securitas raid
Nine people have appeared in court charged in connection with the £53 million robbery at a Securitas depot in Tonbridge, Kent. Six men and three women appeared at the Old Bailey via video link at the plea and case management hearing. The case has now been adjourned until October 3 and a provisional trial date has been set for April 16 next year.

Dale Cregan, who previously pleaded guilty to four murders, two of which where of two female police officers, has been cleared of a final charge of attempted murder, the BBC have reported.

Body Found Following House Fire
An investigation has launched into a fatal house fire in Bottesford in Leicestershire. Emergency services were called out to reports of a house fire in Grantham Road at about 13.50 on Sunday. Firefighters subsequently found a body inside the building.
