Over 100 Cars Vandalised In Swindon

Around 120 cars have had their tyres slashed overnight in Swindon.

It is understood that at least four roads in the Old Town and surrounding areas were targeted, including Dixon Street, Stafford Street, Raggett Street and Prospect Place.

Detectives said damage to about 120 cars had been reported to them so far.

Wiltshire Police are asking people who have been affected or who may have information to contact them.

Lloyds Announce Latest Round Of Job Cuts
The latest round of job cuts at Lloyds banking group have been announced with a further 645 jobs to go along with the closure of its telephone banking centre in Cheshire. It brings the total number of jobs the bank has cut to 13,000, just 2,000 off the target the bank set in 2011.

Cornwall Blaze Detectives Make More Arrests
Detectives have arrested two more people in connection with a fatal fire at a Cornish hotel. The fire at the Penhallow Hotel in Newquay, Cornwall, last August, claimed the lives of three people. Joan Harper 80, Peter Hughes, 43, and his mother Monica, 86, of Staffordshire lost their lives in the blaze.

Wembley workers laid off in pay dispute
A number of workers at Wembley Stadium have been told they will be laid off next week due to a contractors' dispute over pay. Around 120 steelworkers, scaffolders and welders are reported to be affected by the dispute. They were told that they would no longer be employed from next Tuesday, because sub-contractors have not been paid.

Digger driver charged over house 'demolition'
A 52-year-old man has been charged with criminal damage offences after a house and cars were destroyed by a mechanical digger. Robert Taylor, of no fixed address, is due to appear before magistrates in Chelmsford charged with criminal damage with intent to endanger life.
