Convicts Arrested Over Child Murderer Death In Prison
Two inmates have been arrested following the death in prison of a man jailed for the torture and murder of his partner's two-year-old daughter.
In February 2009 Subhan Anwar was sentenced to a minimum 23-years after he was convicted of murdering Sanam Navsarka, of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Anwar died on Thursday night at Long Lartin Prison in Worcestershire, the Ministry of Justice said.
Two inmates have since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
It is understood Anwar was held hostage in a cell before he was killed.
The Ministry of Defence and West Midlands Police are working closely together to establish the circumstances around the Anwar’s death.

Prison officers suspended over corruption claims
Fourteen prison officers have been suspended from HMP Pentonville following allegations of corruption. A spokesperson for the Prison Service confirmed that the prison officers had been suspended over allegations which concerned trafficking and "inappropriate relations" with prisoners.

Prisons face overcrowding crisis
Prisons in England and Wales are under "enormous pressure" and are facing a "looming overcrowding crisis", according to a charity report. The Prison Reform Trust reported that prison numbers have crept up again since Christmas rising to over 77,000 again.

Teens Arrested Over Boy's Death
Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the "unexplained death" of a 16-year-old in Jersey. The deceased, who was a resident of St Lawrence, was found unconscious on Rue de Becquet Vincent in Trinity at around 9.45am on Sunday by a member of the public. He was taken to hospital, but later pronounced dead.
