Two Police And Journalist Arrested By Operation Elveden
Three people have been arrested as part of the investigation into inappropriate payments made to police and public officials.
It is understood that two serving police officers and a journalist were arrested at their homes in Hertfordshire and Surrey by officers from Operation Elveden.
Operation Elveden is looking at inappropriate payments made to police and public officials and is running alongside Operation Weeting, the phone-hacking inquiry.
The journalist arrested is reported to be Sun crime reporter Anthony France, the Telegraph has reported.
The arrests have been made in connection with a number of suspected offences dating from between 2004 and 2011, and a number of searches are now underway, police have said.

Police investigating inappropriate payments from journalists have arrested two former NHS workers. A 46-year-old man, and 42-year-old woman were arrested at an address in Bridgwater, Somerset, this morning (Thursday) on suspicion of corruption and of conspiracy to cause misconduct in public office.

A serving police officer has been arrested in connection with allegations of illegal payments made by by journalists to public officials. The 50-year-old Metropolitan Police officer was arrested at his home in the Wimbledon area of London at 06:00 on Tuesday morning.
