Police Appeal For Witnesses Following Sex Attack

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a brutal sex attack on an 11-year-old girl in an Enfield park.

At 4.15pm on Friday 23rd November the victim caught a bus home from school in Enfield town and alighted in Bury Street.

Whilst walking home on Galliards Road she was dragged in to Jubilee Park by the pitch and put area and subjected to a sex attack.

The victim returned home at about 7.45pm and is now in being treated in hospital.

The suspect is described as a black male with afro hair wearing a dark grey top and black baggy jeans.

Detective Inspector Simon Ellershaw, who is leading the investigation for the Sapphire Command said: "This was a brutal attack on a defenceless 11-year-old girl on her way home from school and I am appealing for the public's help in catching the person responsible.

"We are interested in speaking to anyone who was in the Jubilee Park area between 4.15pm and 7.45pm on Friday evening, 23 November and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or anyone following a girl in school uniform."

Baby Girl Dies In Dog Attack
An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.

The 31-year-old baggage handler intervened and helped wrestle a terror suspect to the ground, when terrorists drove a burning car into the glass doors of the main airport terminal.

Teenager attacked by masked man
Police in Wigtownshire have appealed for witnesses after a masked man attacked a teenage girl in her home. The 15-year-old was attacked in her home in Kirkcowan around 3am on Sunday. The attacker was described as around 6ft tall and broad-shouldered. He was wearing a dark balaclava and a dark-coloured top with a white logo at the chest level.

Police Lose High Court Pay Battle
Police officers have lost their High Court battle for a 2.5% pay rise to be paid in full. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith refused to implement their pay award in full, which has led to bitterness among the ranks. The Police Federation said that Ms Smith has acted unlawfully.
