Two Italians Due In Court Over Attack On Football Fans

Two Italian men have been charged with attempted murder after a group of Tottenham fans were attacked in Rome.

Ten Spurs fans, in town for a match with rival Rome club Lazio, needed hospital treatment following Thursday's attack.

One man injured in the bar attack - named on social media as Ashley Mills, 25, from Brentwood, Essex - will remain in hospital for a fortnight.

The two defendants are expected to appear in court in Rome later.

The accused have been named as 26-year-old Francesco Ianari and Mauro Pinnelli, 27.

A police spokeswoman said: "They have been charged with attempted murder for involvement in riots and causing serious injury with a knife and are due to appear in court soon."

Sixth teen charged with stab murder
A 13-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of east London teenager Paul Erhahon - the sixth person to be charged in connection with the case. The youth, who was arrested in east London on Wednesday, has also been charged with the attempted murder of Paul's 15-year-old friend who was also stabbed in the attack.

Manchester United fans travelling to Rome for the Champions League final next week, have been warned to avoid some of the city's hotspots. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is warning the supporters due to descend on the city to stay away from areas where they may be targeted by gangs.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder Over Child Stabbings
A man has been charged after two children were injured during a stabbing attack in Hampshire. The incident happened at the junction of Southleigh Road and Eastleigh Road just before 3pm on 26 June. Two boys, aged 12 and 13-years-old remain at Southampton General Hospital. Their condition is described as being serious but stable.

Liverpool fan jailed for attempted murder
A Liverpool fan has been sentenced to 15 years in Bulgaria for the attempted murder of a barman, despite another man apparently confessing to the attack. Eighteen-year-old Michael Shields was found guilty of attacking barman Martin Georgiev, 25, by throwing a brick at his head in a takeaway in Varna on May 30.
