Met Officer Died After Chasing Suspect
It has emerged that a Metropolitan Police officer who died while on duty in north London was chasing a suspect at the time.
Det Con Adele Cashman, 30, was taken to hospital after collapsing in Camden around 21:45 on Monday.
It followed an incident when a 59-year-old woman had her smartphone snatched in Haverstock Hill at about 21:30, police confirmed.
Two male suspects ran off and Det Con Cashman began to chase them, along with other officers.
Police said it appeared that she collapsed in Belsize Park Gardens during the chase.
The officer, based at Kentish Town police station, died at 23:10 at the Royal Free Hospital.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death has been launched, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place on Tuesday.

Mr Orchard (32) was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence on 03 October 2012 and taken to Heavitree Road Police Station in Exeter.

Elderly Woman Dies After Mugging
A murder investigation is underway after an elderly woman died after a mugging in north-west London. The 81-year-old, who has not yet been named, suffered fatal injuries after the suspect grabbed her handbag. She died from her injuries in Northwick Park Hospital eight hours after the incident.
