WWII Grenade Found In Home
A Grenade has been found during a house clearance in Dudley.
The device, thought to be from World War II, was found in Quarry Bank, Dudley, on Monday evening.
Residents living in several streets nearby had to be evacuated while an army disposal team made the device safe.
Dudley Council made the community centre on Sheffield Street until residents were able to go back to their homes at 21:20pm.
Insp Mark Rushton said: "We apologise for the inconvenience caused to local people during this incident but clearly, with things like this you can't be too careful.
"... Thankfully the whole matter was brought to a fairly swift and, most importantly safe, conclusion."
