Bus Carrying 56 Students Crashes In Dorset

A college bus carrying more than 50 students has crashed and rolled into a field in Dorset.

The double-decker was travelling from Kinson in Bournemouth when it crashed on the A350, near Poole at 08:15 on Monday morning.

Of the 56 pupils on board, who are all aged between 16 and 18, five were taken to hospital, as well as the driver, a Dorset Police spokesman said.

The bus, registered to First Bus, was heading for Kingston Maurward College in Dorchester.

Students who were not injured were taken to Gravel Hill police station in Poole, a spokeswoman from the college said.

Beauty Spot Landslide In Dorset
A landslide has ruined more than 400 metres of a world famous Dorset beauty spot. The area affected runs along the Jurassic Coast between Lyme Regis and Charmouth and is part of a World Heritage coastline. Experts were surveying the damage yesterday evening. Portland Coastguard were alerted to the landslide after several emergency calls.

Double-Decker Bus Overturns In Dorset
Twenty-five people, including children, have been injured after a double-decker bus overturned in Dorset. It is reported that passengers on the top deck were "thrown" from the vehicle and those downstairs where "trapped" following the incident at 10.15am. Emergency services are attending the scene, which has been declared a "major incident".

Man released over bus stabbings
Police investigating the stabbing of three girls in Bridport, Dorset, have released a 20-year-old man arrested on Thursday without charge. Charlotte Teague, 14, Sophie Hyne, 15 - both from Bridport - and 17-year-old Kirsty Edwards from Staffordshire were attacked after getting off the number 31 bus in East Street in the town.
