Runaway Teacher Makes UK Return

The teacher arrested on suspicion of abducting a15-year-old Sussex schoolgirl has agreed to be extradited to the UK.

Jeremy Forrest, 30, from Ringmer, East Sussex, was arrested in Bordeaux, France, on Friday, after going missing with schoolgirl Megan Stammers.

The pair travelled to France on 20 September but failed to use return ferry tickets after three days.

During a hearing before the Court of Appeal Mr Forrest was asked if he agreed to return to the UK, to which he replied "yes".

Forrest's British lawyer, Phil Smith, said: "Now that he has agreed to be extradited to the UK, we look forward to the full story emerging.

"He is very appreciative of the support of his family, and concerned about the impact of this on all those concerned."

Mr Forrest is employed as a maths teacher at Bishop Bell C of E School, in Eastbourne.

Megan, who is a pupil at the school, returned last week.

UK Return Set For Runaway Teacher

Jeremy Forest Expected Back In UK
A lawyer for the teacher arrested on suspicion of abducting Sussex schoolgirl Megan Stammers is expected to return to the UK later on Wednesday evening. 30-year-old Jeremy Forrest, from East Sussex, is understood to be at Bordeaux airport in the city where he was arrested last month on suspicion of child abduction.

Professor Robert Forrest said "biologically inexplicable" levels of carbon monoxide in Henri Paul's blood were "analytical error or a mystery".

Maths Teacher Convicted Of Child Abduction
Maths teacher Jeremy Forrest has been found guilty of child abduction, in connection with running away to France with a 15-year-old pupil he was in a relationship with. A jury at Lewes crown court found the married 30-year-old teacher guilty at the end of a two-week trial.

European Arrest Warrant Issued For Teacher
A European arrest warrant has been issued for Jeremy Forrest, the maths teacher who travelled to France with missing schoolgirl Megan Stammers. 30-year-old Forrest and 15-year-old Megan have not been seen since they crossed the Channel from Dover to France on 20 September.
