Royal Marine Who Died In Afghanistan On Monday Named
The Ministry of Defence has named a serviceman, who died in Afghanistan on Monday, as Capt Carl Manley of the Royal Marines.
41-year-old Capt Manley died at Bagram Air Force Base from what was believed to be natural causes.
The MoD described him as a devoted husband and father who had served his nation with "dedication and courage" for more than 20 years.
Capt Manley's commanding officer, who has not been named, said: "His combination of ferocious work ethic and humility ensured that he made a sustained contribution to Isaf (International Security Assistance Force) operations on this and his previous tours of Afghanistan.
"A highly-valued Royal Marine officer, he will be missed by all those who worked with him."

The Ministry of Defence has named the British marine who was killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday. Corporal Stephen Paul Curley, 26, from 40 Commando Royal Marines, died in an explosion while he was conducting a ground domination foot patrol through the southern Green Zone.

Marine killed in Afghanistan named
The Royal Marine killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday has been named as Benjamin Reddy. Marine Reddy, 22, from K Company, 42 Commando Royal Marines, was killed when his unit came under fire during a deliberate clearance operation in the Kajaki area of Helmand Province.

The Ministry of Defence has named the Royal Marine killed in Afghanistan on Sunday as Lance Corporal Michael Jones. LCpl Jones was killed in a gun battle with Taliban insurgents in the Nimruz province in the southwest of the country.

Royal Marine Trainee Dies During 30-Mile March
A Royal Marine trainee has died following an exercise in Dartmoor. The man, who has not been named, collapsed during a 30-mile march at the weekend. He is understood to have been based at the Commando Training Centre at Lympstone, Devon. The cause of his death is unknown.
