Newcastle United Footballer Charged With Criminal Damage
Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger is facing a charge of criminal damage after police were called to a report of a disturbance at a house in Enfield, north London, in the early hours of Sunday.
Scotland Yard said officers arrived at the scene to find the front door of the property badly damaged.
21-year-old Ranger was arrested at the scene and was taken to a north-east London police station.
A force spokesman said Ranger, who has recently been on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley, would appear at Enfield Magistrates' Court later.

A south London man has been jailed for 25 years for tying to shoot a policeman. Michael Mitchell, 32, of Babington Road, Streatham, was convicted of attempting to murder Pc Shaun Callow, possession of a firearm and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

HMRC Seek Right To Appeal Ranger Tribunal Ruling
HM Revenue and Customs is seeking permission to appeal against a tax tribunal ruling in favour of Rangers' use of Employee Benefit Trusts. The club, which is now in liquidation, used the scheme from 2001 to 2010 to make £47.65m in payments to players and staff in the form of tax-free loans.

Arrests Follow Edmonton Murder
Police investigating the murder of 15-year old Negus McLean in Edmonton have today made a further two arrests. A 14-year old boy, and a 16-year old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody. Police were called at 7.25pm on Sunday 10 April to reports of a stabbing in Westminster Road, north London.

East London Murder Appeal
Detectives have appealed for information about the murder of a woman in Manor Park. Aliza Ahmed Mirza, 18, a student from Ilford, died on Saturday 3 April. Police had been called to reports of a collapsed female. It is believed she was stabbed while in the Forest View Road area. Miss Mirza was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.
