Cabinet Reshuffle Expected This Week

David Cameron is expected to reshuffle the Cabinet this week as Westminster starts up again after the summer recess.

In the biggest change of the first reshuffle this government has seen so far, Lib Dem David laws could return to office, two years after he resigned on the back of admitting that he used his parliamentary expenses to pay his partner’s rent.

The chancellor, homes secretary and foreign secretary are expected to keep their jobs, but other cabinet ministers could be moved.

Housing minister Grant Shapps, employment minister Chris Grayling and minister for disabled people Maria Miller are among Conservatives tipped for promotion.

Conservative Party chairman Baroness Warsi, a minister without portfolio who is not an MP, has appealed to the Prime Minister to be allowed to continue "doing what I'm doing", arguing that as a northern, female Muslim she was an asset to the Cabinet and would help attract new voters.
