Eating Chocolate May Help Reduce Stroke Risk

Eating chocolate has been linked to the reduction of the stroke risk in men, according to new research.

Men who enjoyed a moderate amount of chocolate each week were better off than those who had none.

Men who ate roughly 63g of chocolate each week reduced their risk of a stroke by 17%.

The food habits of over 37,103 Swedish men aged 49 to 75 were monitored over ten years through a series of questionnaires checked by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.

Researchers recorded 1,995 cases of a first stroke.
