Three Arrested In Connection To Hit-And-Run

Three people have been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run incident in Leeds in which two children were seriously injured.

2-year-old Rayhaan Saleem and his 10-year-old sister Sabah were knocked down by a car in Brudenell Road, Hyde Park, on Saturday evening.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on Monday night. He is being questioned on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident, West Yorkshire Police said.

Another man, 39, is also being questioned on suspicion of dangerous driving. And a third 26-year-old man is being held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Sabah remains in a critical but stable condition at Leeds General Infirmary, while her brother is said to be "improving".

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Double Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of double murder after two people were found dead at a house in Essex. Emergency services discovered the man and woman at a property in Bentfield Gardens, Stansted at approximately 11pm on 21 July. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in custody.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of 1984 Murder
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a female student over 30 years ago. Melanie Road was 17 when she was attacked after a night out in June 1984. Her body was discovered with multiple stab wounds close to a block of garages in St Stephen's Court, Lansdown. A 63-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Slavery Offences
A 62-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of slavery, servitude and forced labour offences. The man was detained this morning 1 July in Peterstone, Newport. He was arrested by officers from Gwent Police's Operation Imperial team. The operation is an ongoing investigation into offences committed against vulnerable adults.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder In Kent
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Kent. At around 7.15pm on Tuesday (19 May), police were called to a property in Hectorage Road, Tonbridge. Two men, aged 34 and 54, had sustained injuries which police believed to be knife wounds. The 54-year-old victim died at the scene. The 34-year-old was taken to hospital.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Caravan Park Murder
South Wales Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder at a caravan park last Sunday. Conner Marshall (18) died on Thursday from injuries sustained in an attack last weekend. He had been found in a critical condition at Trecco Bay Caravan Park, Porthcawl.
