Shameless Actor Charged With Cannabis Production
Former Shameless and EastEnders actor Jody Latham has appeared in court charged with growing cannabis.
29-year-old Latham is accused of growing 24 plants with a value of about £14,000 at an address in Bacup, Lancashire, in May last year.
He attended Burnley Magistrates' Court along with co-defendant Sarah Melia, 31, of Cotman Close, Bacup,who faces the same charge.
Both are due to appear at Burnley Crown Court on 10 October.
Mr Latham played 'Lip' Gallagher in Channel 4 drama Shameless and later played Rob Grayson in the BBC soap EastEnders.

Four Remanded Over Lancashire Park Death
A 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a father-of-five who was stabbed to death in a Lancashire Park earlier this week. Mohammed Bilal Bhatti, 20, of Holcombe Drive in Burnley and a 16-year-old who cannot be named because of his age, appeared before Burnley Magistrates' Court on Friday.

A jury has heard it is “possible” that Michael Philpott started the fire the killed six of his children. Mairead Philpott, Michael’s wife and co-accused in the manslaughter trial said her husband could have got up in the night and set the fire without her knowledge, the BBC have reported.

Huntley a 'capable and convincing liar', jury told
The prosecution in the Soham murder trial began closing arguments at the Old Bailey today after two days of adjournments following an illness of one of the 12-member jury. The court was told today that Ian Huntley was a "capable and convincing liar" and that the motivation for murder was linked to "something sexual".

Teen Remanded Over Rhys Jones' Murder
A teenage boy has appeared in court today, charged with the murder of Merseyside schoolboy Rhys Jones. The 17-year-old appeared before Liverpool Magistrates Court charged with the fatal shooting of eleven-year-old Rhys in Croxteth, Liverpool, last August.

Two more arrested over teenager's murder
Two more teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of London teenager Paul Erhahon. The pair, aged 15 and 18, were arrested in east London on Tuesday morning. Paul died after being attacked and stabbed outside a block of flats in Leytonstone on April 6. His 15-year-old friend was also stabbed but survived the attack.
