Woman Stabbed To Death In Taxi

West Midlands have reported that a woman has been stabbed to death in a taxi in Northfield, Birmingham.

The taxi driver called 999 around 8am on Tuesday morning after a male passenger attacked his female companion inside the vehicle and then fled.

Despite the best efforts of the first officers and paramedics to arrive at the scene, the woman died from her injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jones, from West Midlands police, said: "Officers have sealed off the scene of this incident, and are making significant inquiries in the local area, as we conduct searches for a man who we believe ran from the scene.

"We appeal for witnesses to the incident to come forward as well as anyone who may have been in the area and seen a man running from the vicinity of Dimsdale Road and Hoggs Lane at around 8am today."

Man And Woman Shot Dead In Walsall
A man and a woman have died in a shooting at a house in the West Midlands. The 43-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were found by ambulance crews called to Laneside Gardens, Walsall, shortly after 01:30 BST. "Despite the best efforts of medical staff, both the man and woman died at the scene," a police spokesman said.

Man Who Hid In Bed After Killing Two Colleagues Found Guilty Of Murder
A hotel receptionist at Heathrow airport who hid in a bed for two days after killing two of his colleagues has been found guilty of their murder. 32-year-old Attila Ban, stabbed and killed Tibor Vass and Alice Adams in the Radisson Edwardian Hotel's staff accommodation last August.

Search continues for missing diver
A search is continuing for a diver missing at Dorothea Quarry, near Caernarfon. The woman, who is believed to be in her 40s and from the Cheshire area, was diving with a male companion on Sunday afternoon when she got into difficulties, becoming entangled in ropes in the water.

Two Die In Barnsley House Fire
Two people have died in a house fire in Elsecar, Barnsley, South Yorkshire Police have reported. Emergency services were called just before 19:00 on Tuesday to a property in Cherry Tree Street. A man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. No formal identification has taken place. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
