Second Pushchair Child Dies Following Car Crash

A second child has died after a crash in Leicester in which a one-year-old boy in a pushchair was also killed.

Overnight a two-year-old girl died at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Police said the children were in pushchairs at the junction of Narborough Road and Braunstone Gate when BMW and Mini Cooper collided at about 09:50 am.

Two men pushing the pushchairs suffered minor injuries.

A 40-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man arrested over the crash were later released on police bail.

Images from a CCTV system have been offered to police by Bob Young, from First Alarms on Braunstone Gate.

He said: "It is very shocking because [the pictures] are very graphic and it shows you exactly what happened."
