Boy, 15, Dies On Fishing Trip
A teenager has died in an accident while fishing in Wales.
The 15-year-old fell off rocks near Llangennith in Gower.
His 21-year-old brother is now in hospital after diving into the sea in an attempt to save him.
The brothers, from Merseyside, had been fishing with two other friends at Blue Pool corner yesterday evening.
A third member of the group raised the alarm using a walker's mobile phone at a nearby beach, while a fourth kept watch over the brothers until help arrived.
Lifeboats, coastguards and a rescue helicopter all searched for the young men.
The RNLI said its Atlantic lifeboat from Burry Por rescued the older brother and landed him onto Broughton beach into the care of coastguard.
The younger brother was found by the rescue helicopter crew.
The pair were airlifted to Morriston Hospital, Swansea, where the 15-year-old was pronounced dead.
Det Insp David Hough of South Wales Police said: "This was a very tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family at this sad time."
Will Parfitt of Swansea Coastguard recommended that "anglers who are fishing on their own close to the water's edge and from an unstable platform, such as rocks, should wear a lifejacket or buoyancy aid."
