GB Rowers Win Silver
Team GB's lightweight men's four rowers have narrowly missed out on gold.
There were hopes the group would hit the top spot but they have come away with silver after South Africa finished a metre ahead of them.
The top three teams finished within 0.32 seconds of each other.
Richard and Peter Chambers, brothers from Coleraine, were in the team.
A gold medal would have made them the first brothers to win rowing gold for Great Britain since the Searle brothers in Barcelona in 1992.
Rob Williams and Chris Bartley, both English, made up the team.
They became the fourth Team GB silver medal winners, a day after the Eton Dorney water saw fellow rowers Helen Glover and Helen Stanning scoop the gold with a smooth win.
Mr Williams was clearly disappointed.
He said: "We wanted to win. A silver isn't fantastic but it's a medal at the Olympics and you've seen the event: you can't walk into it and expect to get anything.
"We have to be happy to get a medal - these are a home Olympic Games and we're silver medallists, it's not terrible. It's a shame we didn't win - we really wanted to win. But what can you do? We did everything we could."
