Aquascutum Factory Sold

The former Aquascutum clothing factory in Corby has been sold.

A total of 115 jobs were lost when administrators were called in to Aquascutum earlier this year.

The brand was sold to YGM Trading now the factory's has been taken over by Swaine Adeney Brigg.

Around 25 to 30 former Aquascutum workers are being recruited to finish off 1,500 coats which remain in the factory for the new Chinese YGM Trading owners of the Aquascutum brand.

Roger Gawn, chairman of Swaine Adeney Brigg said: "We are very pleased because because Swaine Adeney Brigg has been in existence for 250 years and our workers are highly skilled, so to be able to get some very skilled workers in Corby that make make high quality clothing is a real joy.

"The thing we value most are our skilled workers. For us it is really positive to be able to get these skilled workers."
