Young Boy Dies After Hanging Accident
A nine-year-old boy has died in a tragic accident after getting tangled in a play rope attached to a tree in his garden and hanging himself.
Josef Kazzan died in hospital two days after the freak accident in the garden of his home in Cleckheaton, West Yorks on Sunday.
His neighbour, Steve Rhodes, said he and Josef's mother had desperately battled to save the schoolboy with mouth-to-mouth and heart massage.
But Josef's life support was switched off at Leeds General Infirmary on Tuesday, with his family by his side.
Police Seeking Cyclist After Death Of Pedestrian
Police are seeking a cyclist after a pedestrian died following an argument on a Norwich street.
A 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital a week after he fell to the ground on Oak Lane on 18 July.
Police said the argument took place at 08:50 BST and a male cyclist wearing sports clothing left the scene on a mountain bike.
Norfolk police are appealing for witnesses.
Nationwide Accounts Debited Twice
An error at Nationwide has resulted in some account holders being debited twice.
The building society confirmed that a "one-off human error" had led to the double payments.
It said that those affected made payments on Tuesday, which were then processed again on Wednesday. Accounts would now be corrected overnight.
A number of failures have affected UK bank accounts in recent weeks, after major difficulties at RBS.

Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

London bombings ‘suspect’ charged
A man arrested last weekend in connection with the July 7 London bombings has been charged with wasting police time. Imran Patel, 27, from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, was arrested last Saturday, on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism. The arrest followed a tip-off from the ‘News of the World’.

Police investigating the murder of eleven-year-old Scottish schoolboy Rory Blackhall have revealed that he died of suffocation. Rory’s body was found in woodland in the Livingston area of West Lothian on Sunday afternoon. He disappeared on Thursday morning, after his mother dropped him off in a lay-by close to Meldrum Primary School.

The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.

Major Police Hunt Launched After Boy Taken From Hospital
A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.
