Nine Charged With Shopping Centre Stabbing
Detectives investigating the murder of Liam Woodards at the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford on Friday have charged nine people in connection with the investigation.
Three men originally arrested in connection with the investigation, along with a further six arrested over the course of Saturday, 30 June and Sunday, 1 July have all been charged with violent disorder committed on 29 June.
Michael Alvaranga, 23, of Leytonstone and Javin Righbie, 22 of Stratford will be appearing in custody at Barkingside Magistrates' Court later.
The other seven will be appearing in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court later.
Enquiries regarding the murder are continuing and detectives are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them.
A 23-year-old man arrested in connection with the investigation was later cautioned for affray and released with no further action. A 20-year-old man also arrested in connection with the investigation has been bailed to return to an east London police station on a date in July pending further enquiries.

At about 3.25am on Sunday 4 January, police were called to Charles Street by the ambulance service after reports a man had been stabbed. When officers attended the scene, they found a large group of people gathered and a 26-year-old man with stab wounds.

Thirteen arrested in bank fraud investigation
Police have arrested thirteen people in connection with an investigation into a multi-million pound banking fraud. The arrests were made following a series of raids co-ordinated by the City of London police, in west London and Bradford this morning. Eight men and five women were arrested. A bank employee is understood to be among those arrested.
