Decapitated Pony Found On Cornwall Beach

A decapitated pony has been found on a beach in Cornwall.

The animal was found on Pentewan beach on Monday, after Brixham Coastguard was alerted.

Devon and Cornwall Police said its head was "severed cleanly" and it had leg injuries that may have been caused by it trying to get out of the water.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a wooden cross and dead seagull had been placed on top of the pony and RIP had been written in the sand, but it is believed someone not connected to the death did this.

The force said it was investigating the incident.
