£5,000 Reward Offered For Information In Vicious Attack On 94-Year-Old
A £5,000 reward has been offered by Crimestoppers for information about an attack on 94-year-old Emma Winnall.
In an overnight attack at her home on April 30 she suffered a fractured skull, a broken arm and wrist and a partially severed finger.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday her daughter, Joyce Blencoe, said the attack was a "horrific nightmare".
West Mdlands polices have said Mrs Winnall’s condition is critical but stable.
Det Ch Insp Sab Johal said: "Local people hold the key to finding who is responsible for this terrible attack."
Police said items of Mrs Winnall's clothing have been sent away for fast-track DNA analysis.
Forensics experts are assessing her injuries to try to determine what implement may have caused them, a spokesman said.
West Midlands Police said the motive for the "senseless" attack remains unclear.

Police Carry Out Searches Following Terrorism Arrest
The North West Counter Terrorism Unit has carried out a number of searches in Merseyside following the arrest of a man on suspicion of planning acts of terrorism on Wednesday. The anti-terrorism officers were joined by Merseyside Police in searching five addresses linked to the 31-year-old suspect.

More Arrests In Mutilated Woman Probe
Another six men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a mother-of-two who was found mutilated on a London street. Geeta Aulakh, 28, was found by a passer-by in Braund Street, Greenford, north-west London, around 7pm on Monday. One of her hands had been severed and she was suffering from head injuries.

Prince Harry Completes Apache Training
His Royal Highness Prince Harry, or Captain Wales as he is known in the Army, has been named best co-pilot gunner in his Apache training course. Captain Wales and his fellow trainees have now completed the Conversion to Role (CTR) course which involves 18 months of rigorous training on the Apache attack helicopter.

Teenagers believe they are more likely to be 'tagged' by the courts for carrying a knife, rather than have to face tough sentences, research has revealed. The report 'Why Carry A Weapon?' questioned a group of teens aged from 14 to 16 who had either been excluded from school or were serving time in custody.
