Portuguese Authorities Rule Out Reopening Madeleine McCann Case
As the fifth anniversary approaches Portuguese authorities have said they will not be reopening their investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Police in the country said there were no new elements that would allow for the inquiry to be reviewed.
Calls for the case to be reopened have come after UK police said they had identified 195 "investigative opportunities".
Madeleine, from Rothley, Leics, was nearly four when she disappeared from a holiday apartment in Portugal in 2007.
But on Thursday, Pedro do Carmo, deputy head of the criminal police department, told news agency AFP: "There are no new elements at the moment that would allow for the reopening of the inquiry."
