Body Found In Burning Car

The body of a man found in a burning car is believed to have been murdered.

Fire fighters called police to the scene of a burning Mercedes Benz at Chilworth Drove in Hampshire after the discovered there was a body in the car.

A police spokesman said: "Hampshire Constabulary can confirm that the man involved in a car fire in Chilworth in the early hours of Tuesday is believed to have been dead before the fire took hold.

"Police are now treating the death as murder and are appealing for anyone who may have seen the car involved, identified as a silver two-door Mercedes C200 CDI, driving in or around Southampton late on Monday night or in the early hours of Tuesday to call 101.

"Post-mortem examination results indicate the body is that of a young adult male, although his identity or cause of death is still not clear."

Murder Investigation Launched After Boy Pulled From Burning Car Dies
Police in Hampshire have reported the death of a five-year-old boy from injuries sustained in a car fire. Tommy Sheldon, from Southampton, was pulled from a burning car on 11 August in Merdon Castle Lane, Hursley, Hampshire by a passerby. He died on Monday. His mother and six-year-old sister are still being treated in hospital.

Appeal After Man Found In Burning Car
Police are appealing for information concerning the death of a man found in a burning car. Officers were called to reports of a car on fire at Mowlem Trading Estate, near to Leeside Road, N17, shortly after 1:00am on 17 December 2008. The London Fire Brigade were in attendance extinguishing the fire when they discovered a person inside.

British troops fighting in the frontline are to receive new body armour and helmets this autumn, it has been announced. Over 10,000 sets of the enhanced Mark 7 helmet and the Osprey Assault body armour have been ordered from companies across the UK, under initial contracts worth around £16 million.

Body Discovered By Fire Fighters In Burning Skip
Fire crews have found a body in a burning skip in Manchester city centre. The body was uncovered when the fire brigade was called to the scene in a car park adjacent to the Apollo Theatre on Hyde Road in Ardwick at about 05:30 on Monday morning.
