Rowan Williams Stands Down As Archbishop
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, has announced he will resign his post in December.
He is standing down as Archbishop, a position he has held since 2002, to take up a professorship at the University of Cambridge.
In a statement of his website Williams described his position as head of the 85 million-strong Anglican Communion as “an immense privilege”.
He will continue to carry out all the duties and responsibilities of the Archbishop of Canterbury, both for the Church of England and the Anglican Communion, until the end of the year, Lambeth Palace said.
Lambeth Palace said the Queen, as Supreme Governor of the Church of England, has been informed.
The Crown Nominations Commission will consider "in due course" the selection of a successor.
Ex_UKBA Takes Out-Of-Court Settlement
Ex-UK border chief Brodie Clark has reached an out-of-court settlement with the home office.
Clark had quit head of the UK Border Force after being suspended amid claims he had relaxed passport checks without the approval of the home secretary. He denied ignoring advice.
Unions representing Mr Clark said neither he nor the Home Office had admitted any liability or wrongdoing.
Lulzsec Accused Appears In Court
A Doncaster man accused of computer hacking for online activists LulzSec has appeared in court.
Ryan Ackroyd, 25, was released on conditional bail until his next appearance at Southwark Crown Court on 11 May.
He is accused of conspiracy "to do an unauthorised act with intent to impair or with reckless impairing of an operation of a computer".
The Serious Organised Crime Agency is among sites said to have been targeted.
The attacks involve the bombarding of websites with so many visitors that it became inaccessible to genuine users.

Radical Muslim preacher Abu Qatada has lost his appeal against a Home Office move to deport him to Jordan. Qatada - also known as Omar Mahmoud Mohammed Othman - is suspected of being a high-ranking member of al Qaeda and is wanted in Jordan for involvement in a series of terror attacks. He was convicted of involvement in the attacks in his absence.

As part of the long-running 'Get Home Safely' campaign, twelve Company magazine readers met with the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary to discuss their concerns. After a night walk to Number Ten Downing Street, the women spoke with David Cameron and Theresa May, highlighting that any cuts to the police service would be a big concern.
