Pub TV Football Landlady Wins Court Battle
A pub landlady, who was fighting a prosecution for showing live football without a Sky subscription, has won her court battle against the English Premier League.
Karen Murphy was using a cheaper Greek TV decoder in her Red White and Blue pub in Portsmouth to bypass controls over match screening.
Before taking her case to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) she shelled out nearly £8,000 in fines and costs.
The ECJ and the High Court in London have found partly in her favour.
