Cherie Blair Latest To Sue News International
Cherie Blair, the former Labour leaders wife, has become the latest person to begin legal proceedings against News of the World owners, News International.
Mrs Blair has claimed News International published stories based on information obtained through hacking, although she has not specified when the hacking is believed to taken place, and that she will sue both News International and Glen Mulcaire, the private investigator alleged to have carried out the hacking
A statement from Graham Atkins, Mrs Blair’s lawyer, it confirmed that they "have issued a claim on behalf of Cherie Blair in relation to the unlawful interception of her voicemails".
News International has already reached out of court settlements with 58 individuals, including actor Jude Law and the son of serial killer Harold Shipman and faces at least 50 further civil actions.

Rebekah Brooks Charged Over Phone-Hacking
Rebekah Brooks and husband, Charlie, are to be charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice over the phone hacking inquiry. Three of Mrs Brooks's staff, and News International head of security Mark Hanna are also charged with the offence.

Mandelson Attacks 'Politicking' Sun
Peter Mandelson has lambasted a tabloid for allegedly branding Labour the "enemy" of troops serving in Afghanistan. The Sun switched its political allegiance to the Tory party during the Labour Party conference in September. Lord Mandelson said stories "created" by the paper had attracted the attention of broadcasters.

Hacking Committee To Recall James Murdoch
The son of News International boss Rupert Murdoch is to be recalled to the culture committee to give further evidence on phone hacking, its chairman has said.
