Care Home Staff Plead Guilty To Abuse Charges

Three members of staff from a care home have pleaded guilty to ill treatment of residents.

This case follows secret filming by the BBC’s Panorama programme at the Winterbourne View Hopsital near Hambrook that revealed staff were mistreating residents.

Wayne Rogers, 31, of Kingswood, pleaded guilty to nine charges. Allison Dove, 24, of Kingswood, pleaded guilty to seven charges and Holly Draper, 23, of Mangotsfield, pleaded guilty to two charges.

All three were released on bail pending sentencing in March.

Another eight people also appeared in Bristol Crown Court in connection to ill treatment of residents at the care home. Their cases will be dealt with in March.

The incidents happened between February and March 2011.

The 24 patients in care at the home have since been transferred and residence was closed.
