Patient Goes Missing With Needle In Neck

A woman has gone missing from hospital in Colchester despite having a needle in her neck.

Police said they were concerned for the welfare of the woman Abi Chapman, 31, who was last seen at the hospital in Turner Road at 3.45pm on Saturday, January 28.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Ms Chapman and that widespread searches were being carried out around the town.

Inspector Tim Marshall said: "We have no reports of Abi going missing before so we are extremely keen for any information that would confirm she is safe and well. Teams of officers are searching the area and we are working closely with the staff at Colchester General who were treating Abi.”

Ms Chapman is white, 5ft 5in tall and has shoulder length red hair with a fringe. Her hair is in plaits and she has a cannula needle in her neck.

When last seen she was wearing a blue hospital top, dark blue jeans and she is also believed to be in the possession of a small black ski jacket.

She has a facial piercing above her lip and tattoos of Amy Winehouse, Winnie the Pooh characters and Chelsea Football Club.
