School Bus In Birr Involved In Crash

A school bus and another vehicle have been involved in a crash near Birr in Co Offaly.

Gardaí in Birr said they are investigating a crash involving a school bus this afternoon on the Rath to Kilcormac Road in south Offaly.

There were school children on the bus at the time of the accident, but all were unharmed. The crash happened at approximately 2.45pm yesterday afternoon according to Gardaí.

The two male drivers involved in the incident were both brought to Tullamore hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There were no early reports of injuries and gardaí are at the scene.

Two British tourists involved in NY helicopter crash
Two British tourists are believed to have been among the passengers on a helicopter, which plummeted into a river in New York yesterday. Karen and Gary Butler, from Chelmsford in Essex, are believed to have been on a sightseeing tour at the time of the crash, along with five other passengers.
