A man hunt has been launched for a missing "high risk" sex offender who skipped bail in West Yorkshire.

Police said they are appealing for information to trace Scott David Brown who is wanted on recall to prison after failing to return to his bail hostel in Dewsbury.

Police described Brown as a 23-year-old "high-risk" registered sex offender.

A spokesman for police said he was "white, 5'6" tall and of slim build. He has short light brown hair and blue eyes."

It is believed he has links with the Pontefract area.

Members of the public, who may see him, are advised not to approach him but to contact their local Police Force immediately on 999.
