Witness Appeal Over Hackney Bus Incident
An appeal for information has been launched on Monday after a man smashed a glass bottle on the driver's window of a bus in Hackney.
Officers from the joint Metropolitan Police Service and Transport said they were investigating the incident, which occurred on Saturday October 15 at about 3.30am on a route N38 bus on Lower Clapton Road.
The incident involved the suspect becoming abusive and threatening to the bus driver after he told the suspect he could not board with a bicycle. The suspect got off the bus and smashed a glass bottle onto the driver's window before making off.
The suspect is described as being of Oriental origin, wearing a light coloured cap and dark jacket. He had a white mountain bike.
Officers have made enquiries to locate him and are now releasing his image to the public in the hope that they will provide information on his whereabouts.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Constable Dan Kelly, leading the investigation for the Workplace Violence Unit, on 020 3054 5402, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
