A man has pleaded guilty to the fatal assault of another man outside Wembley Stadium in September.
Ian Mytton, 41, of Gateley Close, Redditch, Worcestershire, appeared at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, charged with manslaughter of 44-year-old Michael Dye outside Wembley Stadium on September 6.
On the day of the incident, Police were called to the scene at around 7.20pm to the concourse near Gate C outside Wembley Stadium, following reports of an assault prior to the England versus Wales football match.
Michael Dye of Cardiff, was found with head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Northwick Park Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8.50pm
A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as blunt trauma to the back of the head.
Six men, aged in their late 20s to early 40s, were arrested inside the ground, in the Wales supporters' area of the stadium, in connection with the inquiry and were later bailed to return pending further inquiries – they were later released with no further action.
On September 9, Mytton was arrested by West Mercia Police officers on behalf of the Metropolitan Police. He was taken to a West Mercia Police station and later charged with manslaughter.
He pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on 21 December for sentencing.
