Fatal London Car Crash Probed

London police officers are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision between two vehicles in Southall, which resulted in the death of an elderly woman.

Police were called to reports of a collision between a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a white Volkswagen Crafter - a hospital patient transport vehicle - in Greenford Road, Southall on Wednesday, 7 September at approximately 6.50am.

The collision occurred near the junction with Green Park Way.

London Ambulance Service were called to the scene and took an 85-year-old woman - a passenger in the hospital transport vehicle - to a west London hospital with injuries.

She died there on Wednesday, 21 September and a post mortem examination was held at Hammersmith Mortuary.

Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit based at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating and said that anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it, is asked to contact the witness appeal line on 0208 998 5319.
