Teen Briton Killed By Polar Bear In Norway
A 17-year-old British tourist has been fatally injured after an attack by a polar bear on the remote Norwegian island of Svalbard.
The UK national and four others were set upon while in the Arctic as part of a trip with the British Schools Exploring Society.
A party of 80 mainly 16 to 23-year-olds were on the trip.
The four injured, including two team leaders, were flown to Tromsoe in Norway for treatment,
The Svalbard Governor's office reported the victims had been camping, and added that a group member shot the bear.
The attack occurred earlier today near the Von Postbreen glacier.
The Briton has not yet been named.

British Teacher Arrested In Sudan Over 'Muhammad' Teddy
A British school teacher has been arrested in Sudan for allowing pupils to name a teddy bear Muhammad. Gillian Gibbons, 54, from Liverpool was arrested on Sunday, accused of insulting the Islamic Prophet. Ms Gibbons had allowed her class of seven-year-olds at the Unity High School in central Khartoum to name the bear as part of a school project.

RAF Jets Intercept Russian Bombers
Four RAF Tornados were dispatched to intercept eight Russian bombers, which flew close to UK airspace, it has been revealed. Four F3 Tornados were scrambled from RAF Leeming in Yorkshire in response to the Russian action and the planes - believed to be Bear Tupolev-95 planes, which are long-range bombers - were diverted.

Men jailed for British couple's murder
Two Venezuelan men have been jailed for a total of 96 years for the kidnap and murder of a British couple in Spain. Jorge Real Sierra, 56, and his brother-in-law Juan Antonio Velazquez, 40, were found guilty of the murder of Anthony and Linda O'Malley, from Llangollen, north Wales, at a court in Alicante, Spain.

Briton confirmed dead in Egypt bomb attack
One Briton has been confirmed dead following the bomb attacks at an Egyptian holiday resort at the weekend. Ten more Britons are still missing and are of "particular concern", the British ambassador to Egypt Sir Derek Plumbly confirmed.

Scotsman Andy Murray will be the first Briton since 1936 to win the U.S. Open final if he beats Roger Federer in the final on Monday. The 21-year-old beat his rival Rafael Nadal in four sets at the US Open semi-final at Flushing Meadows in New York, winning 6-2 7-6 4-6 6-4. Murray told Sky Sports: "It's awesome to beat him, a great feeling.
