British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody

A British man has died in police custody in Dubai.

Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell.

It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

As Dubai police look into his death, the UK Foreign Office have called for a full investigation.

The UK Consul General has spoken with senior police in Dubai but made no comment that Mr Bradley was assaulted.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said: "We can confirm Lee Brown's death on 12 April while in police custody. Our thoughts are with Mr Brown's family at this very difficult time.

"The Consul General has spoken directly to the Dubai Police at the highest level on a number of times to stress the importance of a full investigation.

"The police have assured us that they are investigating and we are remaining in close touch with them."

Four other Britons are currently held at the same police station.

Teenage Girl Arrested Over Body Find
A girl and a 41-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder after two bodies were discovered in Suffolk. Suffolk Police said that the first body was found yesterday morning at around 11am after a member of the public called police to express concern for the welfare of a woman in a flat at Victoria Street.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.
