Sian Murder Accused Remanded

After appearing at Swindon Magistrates' Court, the man accused of murdering 22-year-old Sian O'Callaghan has been remanded in custody.

Christopher Halliwell, 47, a minicab driver, is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on March 30 for a bail hearing.

Upon arriving at court he was met with around 50 people who shouted abuse.

Meanwhile, detectives are working to identify a second body found on farmland near Eastleach in Gloucestershire.

Christopher Halliwell, give officers details of another person who went missing "several years ago".

Miss O'Callaghan, 22, disappeared on Saturday after leaving a Swindon nightclub.

She was last seen in Suju nightclub in the early hours.

On Thursday her body was found dumped in a roadside ditch near Uffington in Oxfordshire after the suspect guided detectives to her location.

Detectives believe it had been moved from its original location.

Halliwell, was arrested at a supermarket on Thursday morning in connection with the two murders.

A post-mortem on Miss O'Callaghan's body does not determine a sexual motive. Further tests are being carried out to determine cause of death.

Taxi Driver Pleads Guilty To Murder Of Sian O'Callaghan
A taxi driver has pleaded guilty to the murder of Sian O'Callaghan who went missing after visiting a nightclub in Swindon in March last year. 48-year-old Christopher Halliwell, of Ashbury Avenue, sexually assaulted the 22-year-old office worker and stabbed her in the head and neck.

Man Arrested Over Missing Swindon Woman
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of the kidnap of Sian O'Callaghan. Miss O'Callaghan, 22, disappeared on Saturday after leaving a Swindon nightclub. She was last seen in Suju nightclub in the early hours. Chief Superintendent Steve Hedley announced the news after police searching for Miss O'Callaghan appealed for sightings of a taxi.

Detectives are now searching for a second body in connection with the Sian O'Callaghan murder case. Christopher Halliwell, who was arrested on suspicion of kidnap and murder, has given officers details of second person who went missing "several years ago". Miss O'Callaghan, 22, disappeared on Saturday after leaving a Swindon nightclub.

Man jailed for grandmother's murder
A man has been jailed for life for the murder of a grandmother in a bus station toilet 12 years ago. Ian O'Callaghan, 38, was found guilty of the murder of 66-year-old Shirley Leach at Bury Interchange in January 1994. Mrs Leach, a widow, was attacked in a toilet cubicle at the station. She was sexually assaulted and then strangled.
