Woman Charged With Downham Murder

A 45-year-old has been charged with the murder of an 86-year-old woman in Downham.

Karen Williamson, 45, of Rangefield Road, in Downham was charged with the murder of Jean Jobson on Monday 7 March.

She will appear in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court today.

At approximately 8.15pm on Sunday 20 February, police attended an address in Oakridge Road, Bromley after concerns were expressed over the welfare of the occupant.

Jean (known as Pat) Jobson, was found suffering from head injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem gave the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

On Saturday 26 February officers arrested a 45-year old woman. She was later bailed and rearrested on Sunday 6 March. She was taken to a south London police station and charged as above.

Baby Death Mother Named
The British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn baby in a hotel room in Crete has been named. Leah Andrew, from London, has been charged with infantide after being arrested in Malia on Tuesday. Ms Andrew was rushed to hospital by local residents after giving birth alone in her room.

CCTV Of Downham Murder Victim Released
Just over a week on from the murder of an 86-year old woman in Downham, police have released CCTV images of her four days before she was murdered. Pat (Jean) Jobson, 86, had lived in Downham for a number of years and was well loved by her local community.

Arrests Made Over 2006 Double Murder
Officers from Trident, investigating gun crime in the capital, have arrested one man and two women in connection with the murder of Jordan Jackson and Leyla Djemal-Northcott in 2006. Following new information, police used a specialist diving team to search the Regent's Canal for the murder weapon.

Mobile Customers To Share £1m Refund
Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.
