Student Protesters Charged Over Disorder

A further three men have been arrested and charged in connection with the disorder in central London over student fees on 24 November 2010.

Twins, Jamie and Michael Crockett, 18, both students from Wadham Rd in east London, and Aidan Hayde, also 18, a student from Stanway Close, Chigwell, Essex, were all arrested on 15 February and subsequently charged with criminal damage and breach of bail.

The three appeared at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court in connection with the breach of bail and have been bailed to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on 28 March over criminal damage.

Aidan Hayde was arrested earlier on in the inquiry on suspicion of criminal damage and bailed. Whilst officers conducted further inquiries, he and the Crockett twins were subsequently re-arrested on 15 February for breach of bail relating to a separate British Transport Police matter. All were subsequently charged with both this and the criminal damage offence.

A fourth man, 18, also arrested on 15 February in connection with criminal damage was taken into custody and later bailed to return pending further inquiries. He is next due on an unspecified future date.

There have now been a total of 65 arrests in connection with this inquiry.

BA Staff Arrested Following Jet Damage
Two British Airways (BA) baggage handlers have been arrested after a truck crashed into a jet due for take-off, police have said. Police questioned a 54-year-old and 49-year-old after a gash was found on the fuselage of a BA-owned Airbus A321 on 9 January. The pair have since been released on bail.

Four Bailed In Child Exploitation Inquiry
Avon and Somerset Constabulary said four men arrested earlier this week on suspicion of child sexual exploitation offences have been released on bail. The men were arrested on Wednesday after warrants were executed at four addresses in Bristol and one in the Newport area of South Wales.

Armed Manchester Teen Cautioned
A 14-year-old boy has been cautioned after being caught with a replica gun in Ordsall. The boy was found with the gun after a member of the public called the police at about 11.35am on Saturday 17 October 2009. Officers found the boy on Bolton Road acting suspiciously and after following him for a short distance arrested him.
