Paras Shot In Afghanistan Named
The Ministry of Defence have named two British soldiers killed on patrol in southern Afghanistan.
On Wednesday, Pte Lewis Hendry, of 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, and Pte Conrad Lewis, of 4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment, died in small arms fire.
Both soldiers had been patrolling in the north of Nad-e Ali district in Helmand.
The MoD reported that Pte Hendry, from Norwich, died at the scene after suffering gunshot wounds. He was three days off his 21st birthday.
Pte Lewis, from Bournemouth, was four months into his tour of Afghanistan when his patrol came under fire.

Soldiers bodies back home
The bodies of three Staffordshire Regiment soldiers have been flown back to the UK today. Pte Leon Spicer, 26, Pte Phillip Hewitt, 21 and 2nd Lieutenant Richard Shearer, 26, were killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq in Al Amarah on 16 July.

Another British soldier had been killed in southern Afghanistan, it has been confirmed by the Ministry of Defence. The soldier, from the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, attached to the 2nd Battalion the Parachute Regiment, died on Thursday, after coming under fire while on routine patrol.

More British Troops To Be Deployed To Afghanistan
An additional 300 British troops are soon to be bound for Afghanistan. The news will be confirmed later today after Prime Minister Gordon Brown revealed the deployment, with Defence Secretary Des Browne due to give details in the Commons at 3.30pm.

Fire Death Soldiers Named
Two British soldiers who died in a domestic fire at a base in Helmand have been named. On Monday, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) released a statement which said the men, based at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, were not thought to have died as a result of enemy action.
