Gray Sorry Over Sexism

Andy Gray, Sky's former Sports Presenter has apologised over sexist remarks he made while off the air.

In the latest development, Gray, 55, said he was "devastated by losing the job” he loved.

Following comments about Assistant Referee Sian Massey, it was reported that Gray would take legal action over his sacking.

Gray's off-air comments, leaked to a Sunday newspaper this week, resulted in him being disciplined however it can now be revealed that Gray's contract has been terminated following the release of an additional video of him discussing fellow Presenter Charlotte Jackson.

Issued by his lawyers, Gray's statement said: "I am very sorry that certain comments made by me have caused offence.

"Such comments were made off-air to work colleagues, and were of course never intended to be broadcast.

"I was very upset when the comments were brought to my attention, and it was my intention to apologise on Monday night when I was back on air for the Bolton v Chelsea game.

"Sadly I was unable to do so as I was suspended from the show by Sky Sports and have now been sacked.

"Football is my life and I am devastated by losing the job that I love."

In a radio interview, Gray's former fellow presenter Richard Keys also apologised and said: "We were wrong. It was wrong. It shouldn't have happened."

He added: "I've got to ask myself: 'Do I want to carry on without him?'."
