Man Jailed For Stabbing Six-Year-Old
A 29-year-old man has been jailed for four years after he admitted stabbing a six-year-old girl and her mother.
Robert Knox, a former health care worker, stabbed the girl in the chest and her mother in the hand at the house in the Bellfields area of Guildford.
The mother and daughter involved in the incident, on 9 June, cannot be named.
At a hearing in December at Guildford Crown Court, Knox pleaded guilty to two charges of maliciously causing grievous bodily harm.
He was jailed on Friday for four years on each charge, to run concurrently.

A man who had sex with an autistic girl has been jailed for more than three years. Kevin Watson, 50, of Old Harrow Road, St Leonards on Sea, met the girl's mother on an internet chat room. He travelled to County Durham to meet the woman then built up a relationship with her "vulnerable" 15-year-old daughter.

Police Shoot Man Following Stabbing Incident In Hersden
A man has been shot by police after being called to attend an incident in Hersden where a woman was stabbed. Police initially attended the scene at around 11.20pm on Sunday followed by firearms officers and police negotiators. The man and woman, who are members of the same family, are both in a critical condition in hospital.

A 63-year-old woman is said to be in a "serious but stable" condition after being airlifted to hospital in south Wales. It is understood the woman suffered stab wounds in an incident at her home on Gwyrddgoed Road, Pontardawe, on Tuesday afternoon.
